The waves beckon; “Remember, don your sleek pelts and return before sunrise or be lost forever!” Barking, swimming, nimble flippered seals play in the ocean. The silver sands beckon. I entered this short 50 word essay in to a competition. It wasn’t placed. Celtic … Continue reading Selkie Seals

While wandering around my garden late last night, I was struck by these pretty white flowers shining brightly in the semi-darkness. They shone so brightly in the moonlight that I was moved to take a photo and write a few words on their splendour. I have written a Haiku-style poem. It’s not strictly a Haiku but it does follow the 5-7-5 principle. I hope you … Continue reading Pretty white flowers
The view from here In my view a cloudy sky.I gaze up. Dark, it looms down on me, threatening and full of hatred. It spits a spear. The warning lands nearmy feet. The laden carriers race across the sky.Tumbling over and overlike a sea of soldiers.Warriors ready for battle, raging, angry.Determined to conquer. Running, hurtling towards mespears raised! With one cry they pounce.Every spear hits the ground … Continue reading The view from here
