Today is the autumn equinox when the hours of daylight and darkness are equal. After today, the nights are longer. Autumn is here ![]()
I was inspired to write a poem:
Hibernators scurry, gathering their stores.
Farmers rush to harvest crops.
Today we see the equinox.
A new season ushers in.
Time shifts away from the light.
Greens turn into reds and golds
as branches lose their velvet cloaks.
Summer’s warmth is fading.
There’s a frosty nip to the air
as the golden sun dips down and sets.
The summer now distant; a silhouette.
Autumn has arrived ![]()
